We're so glad you're interested in working with us as an undergraduate research assistant!

Research assistants are undergraduate students at Rowan who support SEAHL through a variety of tasks. Common tasks include:

  • helping to recruit and schedule participants

  • learning how to collect and analyze data

  • presenting research in poster sessions

  • brainstorming solutions to lab problems

Research assistants also attend weekly lab meetings and journal clubs a few times per semester. They reserve at least 8 hours per week for lab duties, and commit to staying with us for at least 2 semesters. There are paying opportunities.

We're especially motivated to bring in first- or second-year students who may be interested in staying with us for a couple of years, but students of all levels are welcome to apply.

If you'd like to apply, please complete the department's research assistant application form at this link. Please also feel free to contact us with any questions or to chat more about the opportunities that may be available.

I chose to become a research assistant because I was really interested in learning about how research is carried out, and I wanted to be able to experience that process first-hand. I also felt that becoming a research assistant would be an opportunity that would be beneficial to me in relation to my future academic and career goals.
